Expenses

The Expenses involved in acquiring property in Malta are the following:

Duty on document or Transfer tax 5% of the value of the property. In the case of first time buyers, the duty is 3.5% on the first Lm 50,000 / € 116,469.
Legal Fees between 1% - 1.5%
Ministry of Finance fee Lm100 / € 233 on application for an Acquisition of Immovable Property Permit (A.I.P Permit). This is applicable only for non-residents.
